Exams
Tutors build course exams and assign them to students; students take them and get graded.
Exams belong to a course (not a single lecture) and are assigned to specific students. Only students approved on one of the course's lectures are eligible to be assigned.
For tutors — creating an exam
- Open the course and go to its Exams tab.
- Add an exam and build it from sections of questions — multiple choice, true/false, matching, short answer, essay, or file upload.
- Reuse questions with Import from bank, or save any question to the course's question bank for later.
- Assign it to eligible students (only students approved on a lecture under this course appear in the list).
- Set an optional due date and time limit, and choose auto-grading by default.
- Save — the assigned students can now take it.
For students — taking an exam
- Open the course's Exams tab, or the Exams page from the menu, to see exams assigned to you.
- Start the exam and answer the questions; file-upload answers must be a PDF of up to 5 MB.
- Submit before the due date. Auto-graded questions are scored instantly; the rest are marked by your tutor.
Grading & parents
- Tutors open an exam's submissions to grade answers and leave a comment.
- Parents can follow their linked child's exams and grades from the Exams page.
